Jim Lucas, our owner, acquired Physician’s Choice Hearing Solutions in the fall of 2020. Before that Physician’s Choice Hearing Solutions was two separate practices. Jim has been working in the audiology field all his life. Originally from Michigan, Jim’s grandfather opened a family hearing practice in 1959. Jim was a part of this family business until this past year when he decided to relocate to Florida with his family and acquired Physician’s Choice Hearing Solutions.
Our staff has decades of combined experience helping patients hear better. We are passionate about better hearing and communication, and we are proud to help the wonderful people of the Bay area improve their quality of life through better hearing.

Jim Lucas
HAS, BC-HIS
Jim is the owner of Physician’s Choice Hearing Solutions and is also a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. Jim earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and has been helping people hear better for 30 years. Jim enjoys helping as many people as he can live an improved quality of life through better hearing. Helping people runs in his family, as Jim’s grandfather opened his own hearing clinic in Michigan in 1959. Jim is proud to continue that legacy and help patients hear what they’ve been missing. When he’s not at work Jim enjoys spending time with his young daughter, going to the beach, and playing golf and pickleball.
Monica Jukas
HAS, BC-HIS
Monica is a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. Her caring nature and excellent listening skills help in the assessment and treatment of our patients. Monica is a member of the Florida Society of Hearing Healthcare Professionals and the International Society of Hearing. She has also completed training in cerumen management.
Monica’s favorite part of the job is that she can truly make a difference in someone else’s life. Patients sometimes tell us about bad experiences with hearing aids and the hearing aid industry in general, and Monica is determined to break those stereotypes with superior technology and excellent patient care. When she is not working, Monica enjoys painting, entertaining family and friends, and watching her children play sports.
Michelle Klinzing
HAS, BC-HIS
Michelle is a member of the Florida Society of Hearing Healthcare Professionals and the International Society of Hearing. She furthered her studies and received a national board certification in hearing instrument sciences. Michelle has also completed training in cerumen management. She has been dispensing hearing aids since 2006. Michelle was a combat medic in the United States Army for seven years and received the rank of sergeant. She is also a graduate of St. Petersburg Junior College with an AA degree in pre-nursing.
Michelle chose the hearing profession because her mother lost her hearing when Michelle was in first grade. It wasn’t until Michelle’s senior year of high school that her mother got a hearing aid for the first time, and she cried at being able to hear things she hadn’t heard in years. Living with the impact of that first hearing aid made an impression on Michelle and inspired her to give that same experience to others, which she does every day now. In her free time, Michelle enjoys reading, going to the beach, cooking out, and spending time with her motley crew of pets and her family.
David Regal
Au.D.
Dr. David Regal, Au.D., has been with the practice for several years. Dr. Regal specializes in hearing evaluations and advanced hearing device technology. He enjoys all that the Tampa Bay area has to offer, such as fishing, golfing and kayaking. His medical audiology expertise will ensure the best care for patients who may need a physician referral for appropriate management of hearing loss.
Dr. Regal will be at our Sun City office Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm, to ensure quick, flexible scheduling. Need an earlier or later appointment? He is willing to accommodate most schedules.
John Anthony Peck
HIS
John is a Hearing Instrument Specialist licensed in both Florida and Pennsylvania. He has a background in Psychology and spent years working with his parents who sold hearing aids in Lancaster, PA. Most of his patients were Amish and Mennonite and gave him a unique perspective for helping others.
John enjoys meeting new people and loves being able to help his patients. Being able to change people’s lives in a positive way is incredibly rewarding for him. He believes hearing better is fun and he has a lot of fun working with his team and patients.
In his free time, John enjoys travelling and trying new things.
Tara Yacoub
Tara Yacoub is a Hearing Instrument Dealer with a Master’s Degree in Audiology from the University of Southampton (UK), earned in 2018. With over 12 years of experience, she began her career specializing in pediatric audiology in Jordan and Italy, gaining extensive training in electrophysiological evaluations, communication program management, family counseling, and cerumen management.
Since 2021, she has been part of HRC, focusing on adult hearing assessments and working with leading hearing aid manufacturers. Tara is driven by a passion to improve people’s hearing and overall quality of life. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, outdoor photography, and aspires to publish a research paper in the field of audiology.
How We Give Back to Our Community
At Physician’s Choice Hearing Solutions, we value our patients, that’s why we do our best to give back to our community. Our Outreach Program involves regularly scheduled clinics available at various locations throughout the Pinellas-Pasco-Hernando counties. We offer complimentary services such as:
- Video Otoscope Examination (to detect wax blockage)
- Cerumen Management (ear wax removal)

We can also schedule you for a complete hearing evaluation at no charge should it seem necessary.
- Cares Hudson Senior Enrichment Center (open to the public) 1st and 4th Monday of each month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (excluding holidays)
- Atria Baypoint Village first Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the 2nd floor Bingo Room
- Atria Windsor Woods first Tuesday of each month from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in 2nd floor Activity Room
- St. Marks Village Highland Lakes the first Thursday of each month from 3:00 – 4:00 the Activity Room
- St. Marks Village the second Monday of each month from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the Hobby Room
- Cares Elfer Senior Center (open to the public) 3rd Monday of each month from 10:00 am to 11:00 am
- Timberpines Country Club the third Thursday of each month from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Lodge. Please call the Lodge to schedule an appointment.
- Heritage Pines Country Club the fourth Monday of each month from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
