Hearing Health at Physician’s Choice Hearing Solutions
Services We Provide:
Free Hearing Screenings
If you think you may have hearing loss, come see us for a complimentary hearing test. This is the first step to better hearing, and it’s an important baseline for your overall health.
Tinnitus Evaluation and Management
Tinnitus, commonly known as “ringing in the ears,” can be distracting and unpleasant. If you are experiencing tinnitus, we can evaluate the severity of your case and determine what management options may be available to help treat it. Some tinnitus is related to hearing loss and can be addressed with hearing aids. Other times, tinnitus may respond well to sound therapy, or treatment of an underlying cause.
Cerumen (Earwax) Removal
Cerumen, also known as earwax, can be responsible for discomfort and for hearing loss. Clearing the cerumen from your ear canal can improve your hearing. Cerumen can also impede your hearing aids, so it’s important to keep both your ears and your devices clean.
VNG Balance Evaluations
Videonystagmography (VNG) is a series of tests of the inner ear and brain, used to determine the cause of dizziness or balance problems. The tests can take up to two hours, but they are not uncomfortable or painful. As with all of our evaluations, we will explain what we are doing and why so that you understand the entire process.
Hearing Aid Repairs
Our extensive experience with hearing aids over several decades has given us the skill to offer some hearing aid repairs in-office. This allows us to save patients time and money because we can often avoid sending hearing aids back to the manufacturer for repairs.
In-Home Appointments (Mobile Services)
Our mobile office is stationed in New Port Richey, and we may be able to come to you if you cannot come to us. Call us for more information.
Diagnostic Hearing Tests
We can learn more about your hearing loss through an evaluation of your ears and hearing. Some common diagnostic hearing tests include a “tone test,” tympanometry test (evaluating fluid buildup in the ear), and speech testing (determining how well you understand the words you hear). None of these tests are painful and we will explain everything to make sure you are comfortable.
Industrial Hearing Screenings
If your workplace requires you to have your hearing tested regularly, we are able to quickly and efficiently complete screenings that follow the standards set by OSHA.
Hearing aids provide more than just amplified sound. Sometimes we have to help your brain reconnect to sounds using proven techniques and counseling.
Hearing Aid Fittings
We offer hearing aids from all of the major manufacturers, so we’re able to find the right match for your ears and your lifestyle. Our offices are equipped to simulate many different settings you might encounter in real life, which lets us ensure that your hearing aids will serve you well even in noisy environments.
Custom Earmolds and Earplugs
We can take a mold of your ear and use it to make custom earplugs (perfect if you spend time hunting, at live music concerts, or on construction sites) or other custom devices such as cellphone headsets. We also specialize in musician’s in-ear monitors.
If you are unable to come into our office or you feel more comfortable staying home, we also offer telehealth services such as online appointments. We can speak with you remotely about your hearing aids, make adjustments, talk you through a problem, or recommend new hearing aids, all from the comfort of your own home.
